Prior to completing my 3 week Phlebotomy Technician training at www.manhattaninstitute.com I was looking for a job in an industry that I thought would be lucrative, but it kept me away from the crucial time I needed to be a mom to my 4 year old twins. I thought that working as a waitress would give me some flexibility, and being that I could earn good tips, I was thinking how this would help me until meet the additional babysitting expenses I sometimes incur as a single parent. I soon found that the long hours also required me to work either the early morning breakfast shift, which sometimes lasted right thru the lunch crowd, or nights and weekends, if I wanted to make the most money. Besides, I realized that I was not receiving any additional skills or training to make a better life for my family.
Wanting to acquire the skills for better career possibilities, and understanding that work in the healthcare industry might help me achieve my goals, after putting the girls to bed one night I did some research, on my mom’s computer and came across The Manhattan Institute.
